Providing Patient Care:
Under the direction ofthe Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the providerto gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit andcondition.
Effective Communication:
Communicating clearly withpatients seeking care through different modalities includingtelephone and in-person interactions.
Team Collaboration:
Workingwith cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care.
Attention to detail and follow-through are key components inhelping to provide the care that is needed. Minimum QualificationsSuccessful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certificationmust be provided upon hire) Or at least one year of MedicalAssistant experience (verified upon hire) Or current RN/LPN licenseto practice nursing in the state Current Basic Life SupportCertification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtainedprior to start date Demonstrated basic computer skills involvingword processing and data entry. Professional manner and stronginterpersonal and communication skills. Ability to workcollaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver thehighest level of customer/patient satisfaction. Ability to protectprivacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) ofpatients, members, and caregivers. Preferred QualificationsExperience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systemsand other relevant software. Current national MA certification fromone of the following national MA certifications or registrations:
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National CertifiedMedical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant(CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the
AAMA PhysicalRequirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and readinformation, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors,identify equipment and supplies. Manual dexterity of hands andfingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precisionand accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing fordocumenting patient care, accessing needed information, medicationpreparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range ofmovement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift,and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items ofvarying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk andassist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining anddistributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pullinggurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Oftenrequired to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment,power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in astationary position for an extended period of time.
For rolesrequiring driving:
Expected to drive a vehicle which requiressitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and othervehicles. Frequent interactions with patient care providers,patients, and visitors that require employee to verballycommunicate as well as hear and understand spoken information,alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularlyduring emergency situations.
