Provides assistance withthe examination and treatment of patients under the direction of aregistered nurse or provider (physician or advanced practiceprovider).
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with treatments ordered by provider assupervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs selectclinical duties. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, andrecords information on patients’ charts. Prepares treatment roomsfor examination of patients. Performs basic clerical dutiesincluding answering the phone, maintaining records, schedulingpatients, and filing. Performs basic materials management functionsto include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists withmaintaining a clean and orderly environment. May document theprovider’s encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses andsymptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, asindicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders includinglaboratory tests, radiology tests and medications. Works in aconstant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other dutiesas assigned.
EDUCATION
High School diploma/GED or 10 years of workexperience Wisconsin ONLY
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years ofwork experience, and graduate of accredited school of medicalassisting or education equivalency for certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Constant standing andwalking. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share informationthrough oral communication. Frequent use of hearing to distinguishbody sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25lbs. Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) andfar (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting,squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatialrelationships. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pullingobjects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving patients.
Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Occasionaldriving.
