The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our ophthalmologists. This position requires a strong understanding of medical office operations, including patient interactions, medical records management, and basic clinical procedures. Duties Provide exceptional patient care by addressing patient inquiries and ensuring comfort during visits. Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the clinic. Collaborate with the medical billing department to ensure proper coding and billing of services rendered. Utilize electronic health record systems such as Nextech for documentation and patient management. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions as directed by the ophthalmologist. Maintain up-to-date patient demographical and insurance information Take payments for copays, contact lens orders, deductibles, and surgery premium costs Requirements Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision is helpful. Familiarity with medical billing processes is preferred. Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Proficient in managing medical records and documentation practices. Knowledge of insurance and vision plans is highly desired. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
