Medical Assistant – Holyoke, Westfield River Valley Counseling Center ?Various locations Aides/AssistantsFull Time, 40, varying shifts, 8 RVCCis looking to hire a Medical Assistant – Holyoke and Westfield Clinic AtRiver Valley Counseling Center, Inc. Position Summary:
This role will prepareclients for provider visits, including but not limited to taking vitalsigns, obtaining a history of the current visit, documenting in ourelectronic health records system, assisting with prescriptions,scheduling initial and follow-up appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
Escort clients into the clinical area and assist them physically, whenrequired Document start time in EHR when client is roomed Take vitalsigns and document them in clients’ electronic health records. Prepareclient for Provider’s visit, as required Obtain the history of thecurrent visit and document information in the client?s chart. Maintain,in conjunction with the Provider, current information regardingallergies, medications, and pertinent family history in the client?sproblem and medication sections Ensure all prescriptions sent by faxfrom the pharmacies are forwarded to the provider and addressed in atimely manner. Determine, arrange and submit appropriate follow-up care,including follow-up appointments, educational materials, diagnostictesting and third-party referrals; this process may occur incollaboration with the Provider and/or office assistant. Ensure thecompleteness and accuracy of non-Provider entries into the client?selectronic medical record (e.g. immunizations, medical supplies).
Qualifications:
Required:
Education Level – High school graduate or GED;successful completion of a medical assistant training program Years ofExperience – 1?2 years as a medical assistant Skills/Abilities -Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills;crisis intervention skills; organizational skills; attention to detail;computer skills; good customer relations skills; knowledge of legal andethical issues pertaining to the profession. Licensing/Certification -Current CPR certification and Medical Assistant Certificate.
Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday Saturdayand evening rotation

Summary of Benefits:
Salary Range:
$19.25 – $25.25 / hour Based on years of experience, level ofeducation, specialty and licensure/certifications. Additionalcompensation for advanced education for qualifying positions.
