Gap Year Medical Assistant 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 162 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532 Seeking a full-time Gap Year Medical Assistant for our busy 2MD Internal Medicine practice supporting 1 MD. Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Experience on EPIC a plus. The 2nd MA supports the provider and Clinical MA by focusing on administrative, clinical, and preparatory tasks to streamline workflows, manage in-basket tasks, and assist patients post-visit. They enhance patient care through proactive communication.

Responsibilities:
1.
Visit Preparation:
Facilitating telehealth visit Contact up to 2 selected patients scheduled for physicals (complex cases) one day prior to identify additional concerns and document them in EPIC. Prepare huddle notes for Behavioral Health Screens, Annual Wellness Visits (AWVs), and other screenings due. Print and organize materials for visits, such as discharge notes (highlighted), food diaries, and prefill forms (e.g., FMLA, school physicals). 2.
In-Basket Management:
Monitor and respond to patient messages, using generative AI tools as needed for efficient and accurate replies. For complex issues or questions requiring further attention, refer to provider Call patients to communicate simple negative results as directed by the provider if they do not have Patient Gateway. Prefill referrals requested by patients for provider signature 3.
Telehealth Follow-Up:
Schedule follow-up appointments after telehealth visits Collect diet diary prior to weight visit Ensure patients receive necessary instructions or materials post-telehealth visit. 4.
Post-Visit Patient Assistance:
Stay with patients after their visit to assist with: Troubleshooting Google review submissions Copying paperwork or providing requested documentation. Addressing follow-up care or instruction questions. 5.
Weight Management Program Support:
Conduct body impedance analysis and print/prepare summaries Using generative AI with provider to craft nutrition plan tailoring. 6.
Clinical Backup:
Serve as a backup for the Clinical MA by handling rooming, diagnostic tests, and patient intake during absences. 7.
Efficient In-Basket Handling:
Uses generative AI tools to streamline patient communication and prefill referrals. 8.
Comprehensive Support:
Balances administrative tasks, pre-visit preparation, and post-visit assistance to improve clinic efficiency. Employees who work 24 hours or more a week are
