We are looking for an extremely motivated individual to performpatient interviews, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate,temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and recordsinformation on patients’ charts. The Medical Assistant preparestreatment rooms for examination of patients. Certified Medical AssistantPurpose Assists in all aspects of patient care under the supervision of aphysician or PA. Certified Medical AssistantResponsibilities 1. Maximizes provider productivity by preparing for patientappointments, assisting with patient care during the appointmentand providing appropriate follow-ups.2. Reviews patients’ chartsprior to encounter and ensure exam rooms are prepared andstocked.3. Schedules additional tests to determine or supportdiagnoses as directed.4. Acts as a resource and point of contactfor the patient in promptly returning phone calls to the patient,providing lab results, and answering questions from the patient.5.Provides patient education in regard to aftercare plans to includemedication prescribed, therapies ordered and any additionalregimens ordered.6. Ensures completeness and accuracy of medicalrecords by capturing and entering patient concerns, vital signs,and information obtained from H & P into the patient’s chart.7.Minimizes risk to patient, co-workers and self by using personalprotective equipment, checking equipment for safety before usingand otherwise observing all safety precautions when performing jobduties.8. Minimizes opportunity for infection transmission;following sterile procedure guidelines to ensure non-contaminationof sterile field; adhering to bloodborne pathogen standards,demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures; reporting anyunsafe or hazardous condition at once.9. Protects patientconfidentiality and privacy by complying with HIPAA provisions andprotocols whenever creating, using or disclosing medicalrecords.10. Contributes to a patient-centered teamwork environmentby becoming cross-trained in the duties of other staff as directed;filling in for other staff as directed by her/his supervisor;obtaining and maintaining any certification required for positionsin which s/he has been cross-trained.
