Outpatient Services Medical Assistant 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Winston-Salem, NC 27103 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs, documentation, and insurance requirements. The Medical Assistant will work closely with our physician and our patients to ensure efficient clinic operations and optimal patient experiences. Duties Assist healthcare professionals in performing clinical tasks, including taking vital signs and recording patient histories. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with clinic protocols. Assist in outpatient procedures Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff. Reviews charts prior to consultations and ensures referral and diagnostic paperwork is complete. Triages patient needs and schedules appointments, tests, and procedures according to protocol. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment to promote safety and efficiency. Communicate with third party payors to understand patient benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and update medical records per medical policy requirements. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role in a clinical setting. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and medication administration. Familiarity with outpatient care processes, including medical-surgical practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare teams. Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred but not mandatory. A compassionate and friendly demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
