Job Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified or Registered for our Central Carolina Surgery office located in Greensboro, NC to be responsible for the delivery of clinical services, including direct and indirect patient care, patient education, and assisting physicians and colleagues.

Job Duties:

Responsible for rooming patients and obtaining vital signs, weight, height, and BMI; updating medical histories; documentation of all information in EHR. Responsible for communicating effectively with the appropriate physicians details of all patient-related issues by documentation in the patient chart and verbal communication, as appropriate to the situation. Responsible for maintaining all work areas, including that area designated as “personal work space” neat, organized, clean, and stocked with appropriate supplies. Responsible for stocking lab and clinical exam rooms daily, and notifying clinical manager of needed supplies to be ordered. Responsible for unpacking all deliveries and turning in packing slip to the Nurse Manager. Responsible for cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of all instruments. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of lab and autoclaves Assisting physicians with chaperoning, minor procedures, and nurse visits as needed. Responsible for complying with all HIPPA and OSHA standards of the Practice and all mandated regulations of federal and state employment standards. Responsible for demonstrating regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, physicians, and office personnel. Responsible for conducting all work activities and efforts in a manner that is productive and respectful of other team members, and the practice as a whole. Responsible for maintaining proper attendance and punctuality so as to ensure that the Practice operates in a efficient and consistent manner. Responsible for attending all mandatory staff meetings, both clinical and practice-wide. Responsible for following all policies and procedures mandated by the practice.
Demonstrates understanding of Infection Control Policies and Procedures and maintains a safe environment for patients and colleagues.
Must uphold continuing education requirements to maintain individual licensing credentials.
Responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager.

Job Eligibility Requirements:

Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
High school or GED graduation required.
Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required
BLS required
