Job Description$5,000 Sign on Bonus Eligible Job Summary(CMA)Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in supportof assigned area or office.

COMPANY DESCRIPTIONFrye Regional MedicalCenter, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility andmore than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

EssentialFunctions (CMA) Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan bytaking vital signs, history, medication listing, assessing visualacuity and determining chief complaint. Assesses patients’ physicaland mental status. Completes all necessary documentation in the patient’s medicalrecord in accordance with practice’s charting policy. Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medicaltreatments, exams and medical procedures Administers prescribed oral medications and gives intramuscularand subcutaneous and intradermal injections. Performsvenipunctures, CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment for patientsand visitors. This includes cleaning, sterilizing, and storinginstruments in accordance with practice policies. Stocks rooms inpreparation for the daily work schedule. Takes inventory of medicaland exam room supplies. Complies with established personal protective equipmentrequirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood andother potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants,radiation, and other hazardous substances. Arranges for specialized consultations and appointments fortesting as ordered by the physicians. Notifies appropriateinsurance personnel to pre-certify surgeries or tests ordered bythe physician or other health care provider, which requirepre-certification by the insurance company. Answering office phones, assisting front desk in schedulingappointments and directing calls appropriately. Assists in checking out patients and assists them with referralprocessing and scheduling process. Assist in other functions of the physician practice asneeded.

Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent required for CMA Basic Life Support RequiredLicenses/Certifications Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Programrequired Current credentialing (certification/registration).
