The incumbent must assist with clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times, locion, or des as well as shift pients to other healthcare providers as conflict with staffing and/or coverage occurs. The Lead MSA may be required to serve on more than one PACT or in more than one Specialty Clinic area or rote in any MSA area. The Lead MSA supports pient safety standards using the correct Veterans Affairs identificion of all pients using two forms of identificion, name, and full Social Security Number. The pient may also present the Veterans Health Identificion Card (VHIC) for identificion. The Lead MSA must use each interaction with the pient to valide and upde pient demographic informion, either in person during check-in or over the phone, to decrease the incidence of returned mail due to incorrect addresses and inability to contact pient by phone due to incorrect number. The Lead MSA explains the VA’s mande to collect insurance informion to veterans, their families, and other eligible pients. The incumbent collects, scans, and updes health insurance informion serving a major role in the revenue process. The incumbent(s) contributes to the revenue collection process by identifying pients with third party insurance. Promotes veteran registrion for and utilizion of My HealtheVet (MHV).
