Medical Administrative Assistant

Bandford Way, Raleigh, NC 27615 Busy Family Practice looking for a full time administrative assistant. We are seeking an energetic, dependable team player who has a positive attitude and excels in professionalism. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Manage quality reporting to insurance payers and accountable care organizations Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, medical record requests and prescription requests Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes and secure messages Monitor inventory and order office or clinical supplies as necessary Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR) as needed Support physicians and clinical staff with administrative needs, including documentation and follow-up calls Handle general office duties such as filing, scanning, copying, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality Occasional assistance with basic clinical tasks or support during procedures, if trained and permitted Ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter and problem-solver familiar with primary care and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or medical office training preferred Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting strongly preferred Proficiency with medical terminology and basic billing/coding knowledge a plus Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment Compassionate, professional demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered care
