Job Description

Inventory Assistant – O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center State of North Carolina – Dept of Health and Human Services Wayne County, NC Description of Work Anticipated vacancy: Come join our Nutritional Services team and maintain the inventory of food, tube feeding and nutritional supplement supplies, and dietary supplies for use. Inventory Assistant issues foods, supplies, equipment, nutritional supplement/tube feeding supplies to the group home units, campus activities and administrative meetings as required. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment for the inventory and equipment. Provides a back-up to Pharmacy for delivery of medication cares/boxes and the Food Service Supervisors by providing assistance with sanitation inspections in the group homes. Receives all incoming orders and verifies requisitions with purchase orders. Properly receiving and storing all foods, supplies and equipment. Maintain inventory records and running balance of stock on hand. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Thorough knowledge of proper handling and storage of all foods while assessing quality of products and supplies. Demonstrate knowledge of method, materials, and equipment used in food service. Working knowledge of computer programs (Word and Excel) to support the maintenance of inventory control, purchasing and maintaining records. Working ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
