Responsibilities Assist pathologists in the examination and diagnosis of tissue specimens. Perform specimen collection and processing according to established protocols. Maintain accurate records of specimen handling and laboratory procedures. Prepare tissue samples for histological examination, including embedding, sectioning, and staining. Conduct quality control checks on laboratory equipment and reagents. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results. Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean laboratory environment. Stay current with advancements in pathology practices and laboratory technologies. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as biology or medical technology; certification as a Pathologist Assistant is preferred. Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably within a research or clinical laboratory environment. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology. Proficiency in specimen collection processing techniques. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and safety protocols. Ability to phlebotomize when necessary for patient care.
