The AssociatePart Time Urgent Care Receptionist/Medical Assistant is responsiblefor the completion of set processes and protocols. Workscooperatively with all members of the care team to support thevision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customerservice and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meetingfinancial, clinical and service goals.

Schedule:

Office is openseven days a week. This role would consist of a 29.5-hour workweek, Tuesday through Thursday from 1:50 pm to 10:00 pm andSaturday 6:50 am to 3:00 pm. Rotating Holidays. The schedule willbe determined by the supervisor upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Greetpatients and conduct check-in process: Collect or verifydemographic information, including key demographic fields
  • Load orupdate insurance information as needed
  • Answer telephone callspromptly and courteously for all specialties
  • Confirms andschedule appointments
  • Verify eligibility and authorization andflag appointment accordingly
  • Scan insurance card(s)
  • Collectco-payments and outstanding balances
  • Post payments received inpractice management system and provided system-generated receipts
  • Sends patient records to primary care physician
  • Takes vitalsigns, performs EKGs and assists providers with patient care
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients and documents patient encountersin Epic
  • Performs lab testing and quality assurance
  • Prepares andtracks specimens sent to lab
  • Schedule appointments using approvedscheduling guidelines
  • Ability to be cross trained as a medicalassistant
  • Use call processing and other applicable functionalityin the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians
  • Monitor daily reminder call logs; conduct outreach to patientsrequiring appointments; contact patients who, “no show,” for followup appointments for chronic conditions or preventive care
  • Monitoradministrative tasks in the EHR and respond timely
  • Scan and indexdocuments into the EHR; ensure that necessary documents, labresults, etc. are available in advance of patient visits
  • Assistcoworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation and deliveryof excellent service through teamwork
  • Demonstrate respect forpatients and Optum staff by presenting a friendly, courteous manneralways and maintaining patient confidentiality

Required Qualifications:
  • High SchoolDiploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1 years of customer service or healthcarerelated experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency withMicrosoft Office
  • Ability to be cross trained as a medicalassistant or have your certification as a medical assistantpresently
  • Ability to cover other offices if needed
  • Ability towork:
  • Tuesday through Thursday from 1:50 pm to 10:00 pm
  • Saturday 6:50 am to 3:00 pm
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 years ofexperience working in medical front office position performingduties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out,insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medicalrecords
  • Experience working with an electronic health record(EPIC)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
Soft Skills:
  • Ability towork independently and maintain good judgment and accountability

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability tomulti-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines

00 to$28.85 per hour based on full-time employment.
