Clinical Assistant – Ophthalmology New York Retina Care New York, NY 10128 About us New York Retina Care is a growing privately-owned medical practice on the Upper East side looking for a self-motivated, personable, and professional student to join as an ophthalmology assistant. This position is ideal for pre-medical or pre-optometry students looking for clinical experience before medical or graduate school. Our goal is to integrate qualified candidates into the daily flow of our specialized ophthalmology practice and offer hands-on training in patient care under the mentorship of a board-certified retina surgeon.

Hours:

Currently Mondays, Wednesday, and Friday full days. Occasional Saturday half days if interested Duties include but are not limited to checking in and screening patients, taking medical histories, performing imaging, and preparing rooms for patient examinations and procedures. Additional duties may include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and preparing charts. Qualified individuals will be fully trained on the job. Must be personable and professional. Education and background requirements Must have a 4-year undergraduate degree, equivalent foreign schooling or working towards graduation. Previous experience or training in this or similar position preferred Excellent people/patient care skills required Fluency in a foreign language is a plus – especially Spanish.
