Duties AND Responsibilities:
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist provider with exams and minor procedures.
- Perform basic lab tests and EKGs.
- Prepare immunizations.
- Ordering medical supplies.
- Triage of patient phone calls as needed.
- Assist with care management of chronic diseases.
- Assist with Quality Improvement projects.
- Regular communication with providers regarding patient care both verbally and through the EMR.
- File paperwork and reports in patient charts in EMR, ensuring they are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Data enters results of diagnostic imaging and lab work in the patient record to ensure compliance with HIPAA.
- Data enters patients paper immunization records into EMR.
- Attends and actively participates in staff meetings.
- Maintains respectful, courteous, and appropriate communication and people skills with all staff members, volunteers, and patients.
- Supports patient care activities by managing time effectively, utilizing resources appropriately, and exemplifying excellence in attention to detail.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EMR experience a plus Mature individual with a good sense of emotional intelligence and situational awareness Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and manage stressful situations. Foreign Medical Graduates only
- US. Work permit
- Fluent in English
- eClinicalWorks/ EMR experience a plus
- USMLE (ECFMG) Step 1 and Step 2 completed, or completed Step 1 and finished studying for Step 2
- Commute must be within 1 hr. using public transportation (We require perfect attendance and punctuality)

Education Required:
Associate degree or successful completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited program or school preferred.
Typical Physical Demands:
Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting and/or moving up to twenty-five pounds. Frequent sitting. Manual dexterity. Ability to communicate by speaking and hearing in person or on the phone.
