Medical Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves preparing patients and examination rooms, documenting vital signs, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. You will provide essential support to physicians by assisting with procedures, documenting medical history, and conveying instructions to patients. Responsibilities Document vital signs accurately. Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. Assist physicians by documenting medical history and case notes. Relay instructions from physicians to patients or authorized persons. Collect and document patient data in person and by phone. Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review. Complete and accurately take messages, route them to appropriate areas, and enter orders and referrals. Set up cases in the EMR system and update demographics. Track and route test results to physicians/nurse practitioners for review. Communicate test results to patients when appropriate. Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education. Perform triage as directed by physician/nurse practitioner. Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies. Proficiently use electronic health records for daily documentation and patient communication. Process orders appropriately. Essential Skills 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience. Proficiency in electronic health record systems. Ability to accurately document and communicate medical information. Basic computer skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in phlebotomy is an advantage. Capability to work within a team in a busy healthcare environment. Work Environment The position operates in a busy urgent care setting, handling 50-100 patients daily. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to extend to 6 PM if needed.
