Medical Assistant Lexington Neurology Associates Long Island City, NY 11101 Pre-Health Student (Pre-Med/Pre-PA) Gap Year Opportunity Immediate hire: We’re offering highly competitive salary and benefits, and seeking to hire a full time Medical Assistant (MA) to join our top-rated medical neurology and internal medicine practice.

Dr. Dexter Sun, MD, PhD and our Lexington Neurology medical practice are affiliated with both HSS and New York Presbyterian Hospital.

You will be highly attentive to detail, and you will be an earnest member of our team striving to provide the highest quality medical care in service to our VIP clients, our patient’s health and longevity; and at times their dire and immediate need for medical attention.

About the position:

Work schedule: Monday through Friday 9am-5pm Office address: 530 E 72nd St, New York, NY 10021 Job type: Salaried Full-time Employment with benefits. We offer

    Pay:

    $20-$24 per hour, with significantly higher base salary commensurate with experience (details below). This is the difference between aptitude, training, and experience – and what you can contribute and help solve, add to, and provide in our busy environment.

    Qualifications:
    • 1+ years of doctor office/clinical experience is preferred but not required.
    • Familiarity with related medical terms and terminology is preferred.
    • Candidate will record details from each patient’s visit, and does medical transcription onto Epic, followed by Dr. Sun’s review and sign off.
    • Experience in internal medicine (medical terms, procedures, various diagnostics and prescriptions and common drug names) is valued and an added extra and preferred.
    • Experience in neurology (medical terms, procedures, various diagnostics and prescriptions and common drug names) are valued and an added extra and preferred.
    • Newly graduated students (class of 2025), or last year students (class of 2024) are encouraged to apply.
    • Willingness to learn, aptitude, and interest in career advancement is welcome.

    • College degree Expectations & Regular Duties Include
    • Greet patients and gather medical information with attention to patient emotion and comfort;
    • Administer physical exams and notes for Dr. Sun to render diagnoses and treatment options;
    • Provide observations and notes including suggested options for Dr. Sun to prescribe medications, and / or order diagnostic tests
    • Help provide and explain Dr. Sun’s supervised and directed treatment options;
    • Help to monitor patient progress, which together with your observations, help Dr. Sun to render and explain adjustments to treatments;
    • Counsel and instruct clients, patients, and their families about best practices at home for their care, comfort, and longevity;
    • Help to document and update patient records (EMR).
    • Help to provide Dr. Sun with observations so as to best refer patients to additional specialists (as needed). More about you

    • Computer literacy;
    • Comfortable working with international patients.
