  • Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CertifiedMedical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support adecentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achievedesired outcomes.
Minimum Training and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with oneyear of patient care experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skillsrequired.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either acertification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS forHealthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an AmericanRed Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Annual competencies are required to be maintained.
  • Possessability to understand and implement a variety of detailedinstructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures and abilityto make accurate physical observation of patients.
  • Failure toabide by MUHA policies are subject to disciplinary action,including termination. Employee must possess considerable knowledgeof basic medical terminology and human anatomy; ability tounderstand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in theexecution of complex therapeutic procedures; and ability to makeaccurate physical observation of patients.
  • Must communicateeffectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
  • Must becertified through the American Medical Technologist (AMT) orAmerican Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or NationalHealth career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified ClinicalMedical Assistant (CCMA),
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), orNational Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
