N/A Job Summary:
Provide efficient management of patient flow through the office . Prepare patients for provider treatment. Record and update medical history, perform standard care procedures such as blood draws, checking vitals or collecting lab specimens. Review patient record to confirm reason for visit and that all appropriate paperwork is available. Ensure clinic area has all required license and certifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience
Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to perform a variety of clinical tasks. Works under the direct supervision of physicians and nurse practitioners. Aid providers during patient visits. Performs clerical duties like scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, answering patient’s and parent’s questions, filing and maintaining patient records including immunization records.
Work Demands/Environment:
Normal medical office environment. Work may require constant walking, stooping, bending and lifting children. Occasionally lifting files or other items weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains nursing station in an organized, orderly fashion Ordering and maintain supplies Timely vaccine ordering, storage and monitoring Report and document all vaccines

Knowledgeable regarding side effects of medications and advise patient/family Check all drugs and supplies for expiration dates and dispose outdated items appropriately Cleans exam rooms before each patient Prepare charts prior to provider seeing patients- up to date vaccines, records, labs needed, etc. Phlebotomy using good technique and proper specimen labeling Track immunization schedule for each patient Administer immunizations using good technique Measure and record vital signs Perform in-house lab tests Manage referrals to other clinics and providers Perform precertification whenever needed Manage and monitor providers schedules Complete forms or paperwork Returns patient calls in accordance to practice policy Supportive team member Other duties and responsibilities as required Good communication, respect and teamwork are expected to accomplish the tasks.
