5 shifts per week (11 hour shifts to include at least 2 Saturdays per month. Saturday hour shifts are 6 or 9 hours)
Urgent Care Medical Assistant Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare patients for examination, records vitals and history, and provides treatment as applicable
- Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures
- Prepares and administers injections, changes dressings, and facilitates wound
- Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures, and analyze and prepare for testing, log results
- Document basic patient care and procedures, utilizing appropriate forms and electronic medical records
- Instructs patients and family regarding treatment and medication instructions
- Phlebotomy
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Assist front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary
- Documents in computer, triage, medication and administration, procedures, additional assessments/notes as needed, discharge.
- Documents all labs in EMR, logs and requisitions
- Follow orders and protocols in a timely fashion with professionalism, courtesy, competence and accuracy
- Performs splinting and dressings
- Discharges patient/family providing written and verbal instructions and ensuring understanding by parent/guardian/patient
- Ensure cleanliness of offices and clinical environment
- Creates a welcoming environment and acts as a patient advocate
