Medical Assistant Metabolic Weight Loss Center Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff by providing high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the clinical environment. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative duties, making it essential for the candidate to be organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in medical terminology. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Administer medications as directed by physicians or nursing staff. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed. Assist in minor surgical procedures in the operating room (OR) setting when required. Support hospital medicine practices by coordinating patient care effectively. Provide care in urgent care settings, addressing immediate patient needs. Engage with patients in dermatology and geriatrics, understanding their specific health concerns. Utilize knowledge of anatomy to assist with patient assessments and treatments. Requirements Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques. Familiarity with vital signs measurement and documentation practices. Experience or knowledge in operating room (OR) environments is a plus. Understanding of hospital medicine protocols and urgent care procedures. Ability to administer medications safely and effectively under supervision. Knowledge of dermatology practices is advantageous for patient interactions. Familiarity with geriatrics to provide appropriate care for older patients. Strong grasp of medical terminology to communicate effectively within the healthcare team. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
