JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant is responsible forproviding basic clinical care to patients in alignment with theirmedical education. Our full-time team members work a rotating 36-40hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts andevery-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduledon an as-needed basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following dutiesand responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of thisposition but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties maybe assigned.
- Promptly greets patients when entering waitingarea, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room
- Consistentlycommunicates with patients on wait times; provides direction to thenext step in the treatment process
- Provides solutions topatient problems and recognizes and seeks help inemergent/hazardous situations
- Executes follow-up calls with asense of urgency
- Assist front desk personnel with patient checkin/out procedures when necessary
- Obtains and accuratelydocuments patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, pastmedical, family and social history current medications, allergiesand other pertinent historical information as appropriate
- Assists with patient transfers
- Assists with procedures directlysupervised by the provider
- Follows documentation procedures andcompletes required documentation related to patient visit.
WHAT’SREQUIRED?
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
- Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience
- BLSCertification required
