Medical Assistant 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 254 Ren Mar Center Drive, Pleasant View, TN 37146 Regents Medical Center is looking for a Medical Assistant that will focus on patients and help them achieve better health in an outpatient medical clinic through treatment, prevention, wellness education and accountability, disease education, and patient empowerment. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Must be able to work Saturday every 4-6 weeks. Saturday hours are 8am-2pm.

Main Accountabilities:
Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal. Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients. Prepare equipment and aid physician during treatment and examination of patient. Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Maintain awareness of comfort and needs of the patient. Observe patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations. Ensure patient immunizations are appropriate, well documented and administered using approved nursing techniques. Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basis. Document nursing history and physical assessment of patients. Prepare rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures. Ensure work area is neat and clean, fully stocked and all laundry items have been laundered and put away. Manage difficult and emotional customer situations. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Maintain complete and accurate documentation. Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment. Report potentially unsafe conditions to management. Respond to all patient messages; documenting conversations in electronic medical records system, assist with any patient discharging duties and share responsibility of call back sheets. Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant is preferred. CPR certification preferred. One (1) year of experience in a physician practice or clinic setting is required. Experience with giving and monitoring Allergy Injections preferred. Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program is highly preferred. High School Diploma Training in Computer Operations Experience commiserate with Accountabilities, must be able to evaluate patient’s inquiries to provide solutions useful in meeting their needs Ability to use internet based applications. Strong organizational skills is a must. Must be proficient in using clear and appropriate language when interacting with patients to resolve their issues Must politely interact with patients and ensure their issues are properly addressed. Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
