Privately owned, our Providers and Staff are committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care to high risk mothers and the miracles inside them. We are currently searching for a reliable medical assistant to perform various clinical and office duties to keep our maternal fetal medicine, mfm, practice running efficiently. The medical assistant will work directly with all healthcare staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations and certain procedures. The patients we see in mfm are scared and nervous. Therefore, we need a medical assistant who has experience being professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable in their field.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Utilize EMR system for patient’s medical charting and history Record patient information such as vital signs, weight, medications and changes in medical history Clean and prepare examination rooms throughout the day Assist the MA Supervisor and operations manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed Work closely with all healthcare staff especially, providers, sonographers, and medical receptionist. Check on-call nurse voice mail and return calls, give updates/messages, and request refills Travel to our different locations (Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Franklin, & Murfreesboro) Assist with certain medical examinations and procedures Collect labs and specimens

Requirements:

Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred (if not must be willing to obtain within 90 days) Medical Assistant Degree from an accredited school 2+ year of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital (mfm or ob preferred) High level of professionalism Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability and willingness to travel to different locations Typing, computer and office equipment knowledge

Skills:

Customer service and strong interpersonal skills. Proper telephone etiquette. Bi-lingual in Spanish desirable but not required. Ability to work as a member of a Team absolutely necessary. Experience with prior authorizations and precertification’s is a must. Ability to triage and prioritize phone calls. Scheduling appointments and procedures.

$16.00 – $19.00 per hour
