Job brief Children’s Clinic of Nashville, a pediatric office, is recruiting for a reliable and experienced Medical Assistant. Under supervision of the physicians and nurse practitioners and in collaboration with other team members, provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with professional standards of care, state regulations and accreditation, policies, and procedures. If not currently certified, certification within 6 months is required. Responsibilities Record patient’s medical history accurately. Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc. Performs routine immunizations, visual acuity testing and assists with basic medical care tasks. Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide physicians advice, comfort and release instructions. Familiar with lab equipment to perform controls and documentation.
Assists in phlebotomy:
identifies patient, checks requisition form for requested tests, and prepares equipment, patient and puncture site. Maintains adequate inventory of examination room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the beginning and end of day and between each patient contact.
Performs variety of office responsibilities:
answers phones and takes messages and performs triage within scope of certification in an accurate and timely manner. Participates in the orientation and training of new personnel. Requirements Proven experience as Medical Assistant. Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team Familiar with safety and sanitation standards and procedures Understanding of confidentiality obligations and HIPAA standards Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate and able to handle stress Certification a plus
