Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Measure and record vital signs accurately. Administer medications as prescribed by physicians. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans. Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed in emergency situations. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment. Collaborate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to enhance patient interactions. Skills Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care. Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient care processes within a clinical setting. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and emergency medicine procedures. Strong grasp of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus. Understanding of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments and treatments. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff effectively. Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
