Registration Medical Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Registration Medical Assistant to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patient check-in and taking vital signs upon ER arrival. If a patient is in distress and in urgent need of care, you will notify the nursing staff to take immediate action. Responsibilities Be the first point of contact for patients arriving at the emergency department. Collect the patient’s name and reason for visit. Enter data so the patient is visible on the tracking board. Notify RN if a patient needs immediate attention for triage. Promptly update the ED tracking board to communicate with staff. Document and maintain patient records, including temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, oxygen saturation, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements. Assist in maintaining a safe environment, including checking equipment daily for proper function and reporting any issues, handling linen appropriately, and storing supplies correctly. Respond to patient requests and keep them updated on care progress. Report observed changes in patient condition to nurse or provider. Assist in triage by taking vital signs. Help maintain a clean and orderly patient and work environment. Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards. Work towards achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills 3 years of clinical experience preferred. MA certification or equivalent experience accepted. Proficiency in phlebotomy. Ability to take blood pressure and other vital signs. Experience with electronic medical records. Strong customer service skills. Schedule Friday – Sunday 7A-7P Wednesday – Saturday 11A-9P
