ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Nextech Superuser:
First point of contact for staff and providers for troubleshooting Nextech, supply issues, MA coverage, and patient flow.
Patient Flow Management:
Reassign MAs based on patient volume and assist teams with backlogs.
Task Oversight:
Ensure MAs complete tasks and assist with to-do lists. Redirect to phones as needed.
Training & Leadership:
Train new MAs, support departmental changes, and provide performance input to the Office Manager.
Support Office Manager:
Help investigate patient complaints, registration, and billing/coding issues.
Supplies Management:
Order, sort, inventory, restock, and maintain medical supplies.
Room & Procedure Prep:
Room patients, take histories, prep for procedures, sterilize instruments, assist providers, and follow infection control.
Lab & Path:
Prep specimens, fill out requisitions, and log accurately.
Documentation & Communication:
Document in EMR, return patient/pharmacy calls, answer questions, and explain procedures/products.
Scheduling & Prescriptions:
Schedule surgical procedures, obtain pre-authorizations, and handle prescriptions per provider’s instructions.
Compliance:
Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and office policies.
General Duties:
Maintain exam room cleanliness, support housekeeping tasks, review/update health history, and perform additional tasks as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of a formal medical assisting program and internship or 2-3 years of recent experience in a Dermatology Practice.
