AS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT DUTIES INCLUDE
After patients have checked in and provided appropriate paperwork to Check In Department, MA’s greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, and then guide patients to the appropriate exam rooms. Obtain and record patients’ complaint(s), medical histories, medications, vitals, meaningful use and other information for medical records. Download or obtain test results for provider to review at each patient visit as required and in a timely manner. Test results may include but are not limited to:
CPAP/BIPAP
compliance from Encore Anywhere or ResMed (from current CPAP users) Ensure cleanliness of patient exam rooms and surrounding areas before and after each patient visit. If provider recommends PAP pressure changes for the patient, login to Encore Anywhere and initiate changes as directed Prepare DOT and FAA letters General knowledge of insurance authorization and eligibility requirements. Schedule appointments as needed in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure all appointments are scheduled accurately by reviewing the details with the patient including date, time, location and provider name. Call patients to confirm appointments in advance (or reschedule appointments for a more convenient time) as needed. Carefully adhere to HIPAA standards and procedures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of our patients’ personal and medical information in every interaction. Understand and practice regulatory standards and organization policies and procedures including, but not limited to: OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and patient care policies and procedures. Comply with Meaningful Use (or MIPS) requirements. Meet mandatory job requirements within established time frames. SKILLS & BACKGROUND YOU’LL NEED
Proven and advanced use of technology including and not limited to Dual computer screen processing, eClinicalWorks EMR, voice over IP phone system (including soft phone), Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) Organization of workspace and optimization of time Communication – advanced written, typing, verbal and listening communication skills Ability to function confidently and thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment Priority management – Able to perform a variety of tasks; often changing from one task to another without loss of effectiveness or composure and be able to perform under stressful conditions when presented with multiple requests in a short time.

Sitting or standing for long periods of time Light object lifting/moving, up to 20 pounds

Medical experience preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Occasional travel may be required alternating between our Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Clarksville offices. Applicant will be required to pass a background check. SCMT is a tobacco free workplace.
