Certified Medical Assistant Job Description The role involves preparing and maintaining patient charts, scheduling and coordinating appointments, assisting with patient-related inquiries, and providing medical support in various settings. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, and laboratory reports. Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests, and confirm appointments. Assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters via incoming calls. Relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician’s discretion and conduct follow-up calls. Perform blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and weight measurements on patients. Room patients and record their medical history prior to being seen by the physician. Maintain medical and office supplies in exam rooms and clerical areas. Collect specimens and prepare them for external laboratories, including performing urinalysis. Provide Medical Assistant support for other sites as needed. Essential Skills Phlebotomy experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. CPR certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification through AAMA, RMA, or AMT. 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Work Environment The position is based in a primary care clinic, offering a professional healthcare setting with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with flexible start times and no weekend or holiday shifts.
