Job Summary and Qualifications Clinical Lab Assistant As the Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you oversee specimen processing and accessioning in the Specimen Processing department of the Laboratory on assigned shift. What you will do in this role: You are responsible for maintaining an efficient workflow in the Specimen Processing department and monitoring the blood collection activity and dispatching Phlebotomists to locations across the campus. You assist with answering the phone and reconciling test orders, as they are submitted and received in the Laboratory (i.e. Add-ons and test order cancellations), and with the distribution of those samples throughout the Laboratory functional areas as needed. You also function as a Phlebotomist and performs venipuncture procedures to obtain blood specimens, as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
High School diploma or equivalent Shows leadership qualities during performance of phlebotomy duties Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all co-workers, staff, patients, patient families and vendors.
