Competitive and Dependent on Experience The Coder is proficient in at least one of the following: inpatient multi-specialty coding types to include onetime ancillary/series, emergency department, observation, day surgery.
Specific Duties:
Identify appropriate assignment of ICD-10-CM and
ICD-10-PCS
Codes for inpatient services provided in a hospital setting and understand their impact on the DRG with reference to CC/MCC, while adhering to the official coding guidelines and established client coding guidelines of the assigned facility Abstract additional data elements during the Chart Review process when coding, as needed Other duties will be discussed
Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED 2+ years of of exp. Acute Care Inpatient medical coding experience (hospital, facility, etc.) Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (ROCC, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) to be maintained annually
