The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding and batching patient diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems. This role is crucial in ensuring proper billing and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Coding Specialist will also assist with medical collections, working rejections and maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology. This position requires strong organizational skills and a basic understanding of medical terminology and coding. Experience with Vascular, Vascular Surgery In Office (OBL), Venous Procedures, Ortho, Wound Care, Xray, Venous Procedures, Ultrasound and Podiatry a plus OR an interest in learning would also be considered. Responsibilities Must have experience with Pain Management, Physical Therapy, DME, Xray and Surgery Center a must. Review and analyze patient records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Code and process medical billing claims efficiently, ensuring timely submission to insurance companies. Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records, including coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems. Support medical collection processes as needed, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Communicate effectively with patients, providing them with information about their treatment costs and answering any questions they may have. Review and analyze patient records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate coding practices. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards. Code and process medical billing claims efficiently, ensuring timely submission to insurance companies. Conduct audits of coded data to maintain accuracy and integrity in the coding process. Educate and communicate with providers and staff about updates, errors, standard practice, trends, rejections etc. Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, policies, and procedures. Assist in resolving any discrepancies related to medical collections or billing inquiries. Skills Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices, , ICD-9, and ICD-10. Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical records management. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records. Proven experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group), and various coding systems is essential. Experience working rejections. Working in a team environment Previous experience in a medical office environment is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals. eClinicalWorks experience a plus. Schedule:

Monday to Friday Application Question(s): What codes would you use for Spinal Cord Stimulator trial in an office and permanent in Surgery Center. Make sure you clarify which codes are for which. We dispense a knee brace to a paitent who has straight Medicare. We don’t yet have our DME license. What happens? And what would you do? We do not have a DME license and we dispense a brace to a patient with commerical insurance. What happens? We have a patient that is referred to us for a same day injection with commercial insurance. We have to see the patient as they travelled from over 200 miles. What happens? We have a patient whose insurance we have verified. They arrive to the office and explain they have workmans comp case. The patient is demanding to be seen. What do we do?
