Coding Specialist 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Society Hill, SC 29593 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9. This role is essential in ensuring accurate coding for medical records, facilitating effective medical billing processes, and supporting the overall efficiency of our medical office operations. Responsibilities Interact with patients and employees in a respectful and consistent manner consistent with the mission and values of CareSouth Carolina.

Coding and Charge Entry:

Entering CPT and ICD-10 codes as well as capturing G-Codes and translating any relevant sno-med code into the proper CPT code for services rendered. Review the Electronic Health Record to ensure that all relevant codes and charges have been captured.

Protected Health Information Confidentiality:

Maintains compliance with all relevant confidentiality standards, including CareSouth Carolina procedures, HIPAA, JCAHO accreditation standards, etc. Experience A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required Must have a minimum of one year’s experience as a certified coder. FQHC billing/coding experience is preferred but not required. Must have a minimum of one year of coding experience; three year’s is preferred. Must be an AAAPC-certified professional coder. Ability to work independently and handle problems involving several concrete variables in a standardized situation Hours Monday-Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Location Society Hill, SC CareSouth Carolina is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all.
