Mobile, Alabama, Geriatric Medical Director Opening Clinical Role:
Client will consider full-time OR part-time (16-24 hours/week)candidates Under the supervision of the Executive Director Provides general medical direction and supervision of themedical aspects of participant care Responsible for the delivery of participant care, clinicaloutcomes, and oversight of the Quality Assurance PerformanceImprovement (QAPI) program Responsible for the development and maintenance of medicalpolicies and procedures/standards and protocols Provides direction and supervision to related Primary CareProviders (PCPs) and APPs. Provides leadership and guidance to the program colleagues andproviders in the local community Need to have a driver’s license, proof of insurance, and meansof transportation Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.),in addition to basic knowledge of email, calendaring systems, andother software as required to perform the essential functions ofthe job Excellent organizational, customer service, flexibility, andproblem-solving skills Willingness to travel within the region periodically asneeded Conduct history and physical on new participants andevent-based and periodic reassessments. Develop medical treatmentplan and provide medically necessary services in the range oflocations in which participants may reside Interview and evaluate applicants to PACE Organization andtheir caregivers and participate in the Intake and Assessmentdecision Discuss each participant’s medical conditions and prognosiswith him/her and their caregiver to assist them in expressing theirwishes and planning their future care Execute assignments in a culture that is shared andcollaborative across all divisions Collaborate in the nursing treatment program ofparticipants Establish and/or maintain as a member of the leadership team aplan to achieve operating goals Participate as an active member of PACE Organizationinterdisciplinary team. Educates and advises the team regarding theimplications of diagnoses, cognitive and physical function andtreatment options Participate in team and family conferences and decision-makingprocesses. Educate participants and families regarding health maintenanceand their chronic medical conditions, in cooperation with nursingstaff Supervise the health care and treatment program as developed bythe interdisciplinary team Perform physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriatelaboratory and diagnostic tests, and record results in a systematicmanner Effective skills in physical assessment and chronic diseasemanagement for frail older adults Desire to work in a creative alternate health care setting Able to manage changing priorities according to participantneeds Participates in provider on-call rotation as required Minimum of 1 year experience working with the frail or elderlypopulation is required Not accepting visa candidates Provider must be interested in Perm (not accepting Locums) Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and theclient to discuss more!
