Your Role ??Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the SeniorMedical Director, Clinical Strategy will define the vision andpriorities for Blue Shield of California’s strategy to deliver bestin class clinical outcomes for our members while working to ensurethat health care is affordable. ?In this role you will ?beaccountable for working in partnership with other leaders todeliver best in class clinical programs and align our value-basedcare models to meet our clinical strategy objectives. ? Your WorkIn this role, you will: Develop a clinical strategy framework andguiding principles, grounded in data on population health outcomesand cost, to deliver Best in Class clinical outcomes for BlueShield of California members Define the organization’s overallclinical strategy, as relates to priorities, partnerships, and keymeasures of success to improve member experience, population healthand affordability, inclusive of primary care and specialty careCo-chair the Clinical Program Review and Governance Committee withthe Chief Medical Officer to ensure that all clinical programs aredelivering expected clinical and cost of care outcomes for ourmembers Work with teams performing vendor management to ensure thatcontracts include appropriate metrics to ensure programs aremeeting operational targets to achieve clinical objectivesCollaborate with the Health Economics team to develop themethodology to evaluate the effectiveness and lead a process toensure robust evaluation of all clinical programs Collaborate withbusiness leaders to ensure that the clinical strategy and clinicalprograms are meeting business, client, and member needs Create anenvironment of accountability and continuous quality improvement toensure that all clinical programs continue to meet and exceedobjectives necessary to deliver best in class clinical outcomes forBlue Shield of California members Communicate internally andexternally the vision and strategy to transform healthcare todeliver Best in Class clinical outcomes for Blue Shield ofCalifornia members Your Knowledge and Experience Minimum of 2 yearsof previous medical leadership experience Minimum of 5 years ofdirect patient care experience post residency Minimum 4 yearsexperience in observational study design and execution and/orclinical program evaluation Medical degree (M.D./D.O.) Maintainactive, unrestricted California State Medical License required;Maintain active, unrestricted Medical License in all additionalassigned states required Maintain Board Certification in one ofABMS, ABOS, or AOA recognized specialty required Outstanding verbaland written communication skills Ability to lead through influencein a matrixed organization Masters or PhD in Health ServicesResearch, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or similar field preferredExperience in a health plan or managed care organization ispreferred
