Summary:

Enhance theclinical strategy of Memorial Healthcare System, champion quality,align providers to reduce variation in care, drive physicianengagement, foster clinical effectiveness and implement a cultureof excellence in the delivery of clinicalservices.

Responsibilities:

Provides strategic clinical advice and counsel for new andexisting clinical services. Represents Memorial Healthcare System regionally andnationally, as appropriate. Guides continued development of the academic missions ofeducation and research. Works with the chief academic officer and program directors toassure quality, accreditation, and appropriate growth of graduatemedical education programs. Works with the chief medical research officer and clinicalprogram leaders to grow clinical research and assure compliancewith all applicable rules and regulations. Works with other organizational leaders to develop new andinnovative service and care delivery models such as managed care ofpopulations, remote care and new ambulatory services. As the clinical strategist for Memorial, develops andimplements processes that promote innovative care delivery modelsthat are patient-centered and improve the effectiveness, efficiencyand quality of clinical services. Brings the health system opportunities for innovation and useof new technologies such as genomics, robotics, artificialintelligence, etc. Fosters the development and implementation of effectiveworkforce initiatives around the delivery of care, includingefforts to ensure a robust pipeline of new providers. Oversees clinical quality and patient safety programs for allclinical services, in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings,for Memorial Healthcare System. Provides leadership to the professional and leadershipdevelopment of physicians. Continues to enhance the current culture in which physiciansare fully engaged and aligned with organizational goals and whichis characterized by shared decision-making and mutual support. Directs the use of clinical analytics to monitor performance(efficacy, quality, safety, patient satisfaction and efficiency) ofclinical services. Works with the leaders of clinical programs, hospital CMOs, andnursing leadership to continually improve clinicalperformance. Works collaboratively with other senior leaders to create andimplement a system strategic plan to improve and enhance clinicalquality and safety. Serves as the chief clinical officer for Memorial HealthcareSystem and is a member of the executive leadership team. Serves as the clinical voice of the health system to thecommunity and local officials, developing effective and productiverelationships in the community, and enhancing communityhealth. Leads a team of hospital-based CMOs and chiefs of staff tooversee and improve engagement with employed, contracted andindependent members of the medical staff and to set and administerstandards of professionalism.

Complexity of Work:

Substantialtrack record of leadership in a complex, high-performing,multi-hospital health system preferably with a graduate medicaleducation, clinical research and large children’s health programs.

Strong clinical background with an ability to support and buildresearch and academic programs.

Required Work Experience:

3 years ofrelevant system-wide medical leadership experience within amulti-facility health system with a strong clinical background andan ability to support and build research and academicprograms.

Other Information:

MD or DO degree, along with primaryand/or sub-specialty board certification, and current licensure oreligibility to practice medicine in the state of Florida isrequired. An advanced degree in healthcare or business-relatedfield is highly desirable.
