Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and service-oriented Patient Associate•Emergency Medicine to help improve the experience of patients and families in the Emergency Department (ED). This position is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare careers, such as pre-medical students in their gap year, offering immersive exposure to emergency care environments while supporting patient advocacy, communication, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Advocacy:

Serve as a dedicated liaison for patients and families by addressing questions, concerns, and requests to ensure an optimal patient experience.

Customer Service Rounds:

Conduct regular rounds to assess patient satisfaction, gather feedback, and provide real-time updates or reassurance.

Surveying & Feedback:

Collect and analyze patient feedback through interviews and surveys to identify trends and improvement areas.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

Partner with clinical and administrative teams to implement strategies that improve the ED environment and patient satisfaction.

Service Excellence Coaching:

Support staff through coaching and sharing best practices for high-quality communication and service delivery.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, psychology, communications, or a related field (completed or in progress). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of empathy and professionalism. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic emergency care setting.
