- reports directly to the
- Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
- and provides clinical and operational oversight for physicians and nurse practitioners (NPs) across multiple locations.
This role ensures high-quality client care, supports clinical teams with medical and psychiatric care, and collaborates with other departments for operations support. The Director will be responsible for serving as direct supervisor to 15 to 20 contractor psychiatrists and psychiatric NPs. Duties include new provider onboarding, assisting site providers with resolving system-related issues (e.g., EMR, eRx), supporting multi-discipline collaborations, and conducting doc to doc reviews as needed. Additionally, the Director provides direct client care weekly and as needed psychiatric coverage for providers on leave or during high-volume periods.

Responsibilities Include:
- Provider Oversight & Clinical Leadership
- + Supervise and support physicians and nurse practitioners as assigned by the CMO. + Ensure compliance with medical and psychiatric policies, procedures, and best practices. + Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations for assigned providers. + Consult on escalated medical and psychiatric concerns from the clinical teams.
- Direct Client Care & Coverage
- + Provide direct client care weekly and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. + Maintain clinical competency and active licensure. Willing to obtain medical licenses in multiple states to provide coverage as needed.
- Operational & Cross-Department Collaboration
- + Partner with HR and IT to support provider onboarding, credentialing, and ongoing system support.
+ Assist physicians and NPs with operational challenges related to Kipu, eRx, and other electronic health record (EHR) systems. + Ensure accurate and compliant documentation practices. + Assist with ensuring provider trainings are completed in Relias or appropriate documentation is provided to HR for training completion. + Review and approve supervisees’ invoiced hours monthly and resolve any budgetary discrepancies.
- Quality Improvement & Compliance
- + Develop, implement, and enforce medical and psychiatric policies and procedures with interdisciplinary collaboration.
+ Participate in quality assurance initiatives, audits, and performance improvement efforts. + Support regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications:

- MD or DO
- with an active, unrestricted license (multi-state licensure preferred or willingness to obtain). +
- Board Certification
- in Psychiatry and/or psychiatry subspecialties. +
- 5+ years of clinical experience
- , preferably in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or integrated care settings.
+ Prior experience supervising providers (physicians and/or APPs) strongly preferred. + Strong understanding of EHR systems, prescribing platforms, and medical compliance. + Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. #montenido #LI-REMOTE
