No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting The Orlando VAMC is looking for a Psychirist to serve as the Inpient Medical Director and Supervisory Psychirist with experience as a supervisor and administror. They will have experience and demonstre the ability to manage and oversee Psychirists and Advanced Practice Professionals. This position reports to the Chief of Psychiry. Psychirist Inpient Medical Director duties and responsibilities include but not limited are: Provide leadership for staff psychirists and ARNPs working on Inpient Unit and Consult Liaison services, ensuring regulory compliance in the inpient clinical setting of pient care, meeting performance targets and benchmarks for the clinical and administrive activities and foster academic career development of junior psychirists. Assesses needs, alloces resources, monitors use and works with program managers to develop policies and procedures, implements systems to ensure the competency of professional practice for psychirists and APPs. Provides leadership in recruiting and selecting psychirists. Assists in addressing performance deficiencies; implements processes for maintaining ethical standards and professional identity among psychiry staff; leadership in da-based quality improvement to promote adherence to clinical practice guidelines and current standards of practice. Provide trement to an inpient adult psychiric populion with diverse diagnoses including Major Affective Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, PTSD and Substance Reled Disorders. The position demands a high degree of organizional stewardship, including willingness to receive additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief of Psychiry in accordance with the organizional needs. Candide will have necessary credentials, administrive and leadership experience, and familiarity with VHA and other regulory standards, as well as a desire to enhance the delivery of quality, Veteran-centered care to our nion’s veterans. Required to support mental health educion for the organizion across multiple disciplines but with direct engagement with medical students and psychiry residents. Work Schedule :
Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, but with weekends and irregular work hours highly likely due to leadership role in a 24/7 hospital service. The inpient medical director is not routinely part of the roting call schedule. Clinical services may need to be provided off tour and required to do so upon receiving critical clinical messages.
