Full Job Description Description:

We are excited to announce an opening for a Medical Director in our South Kissimmee location. As a Medical Director , you will be responsible for the overall administration of all providers within their scope of practice, ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of medical care. The Medical Director provides the leadership to resolve current issues, anticipate future needs, and appropriately elevate concerns among providers and their patients while working to constantly improve clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

Partners with clinic managers to ensure that all providers within their scope of practice are delivering quality clinical services and meet quality assurance metrics. Lead regular provider meetings within practices, reviewing key performance metrics, patient experience, and clinical quality. Responsible for ensuring that all healthcare regulations and safety standards are met throughout all practices within their assigned scope of practice. Reviews and coordinates each facility’s activities to guarantee medical quality and the proper documentation in medical records. Continually evaluates and explores ways to improve clinical services. Utilizes provided reporting to assist in analysis. Communicates effectively with the Regional Medical Director and aligned providers regarding issues impacting clinical services. Reviews and suggests updates, amendments, and replacements of medical policies to the Regional Medical Director. Ensures that medical knowledge, experience, and licenses are up to date. Remains updated on current trends and standards in clinical management and illnesses. Provides on-site technical support and mentoring to the Medical Staff. Is the point person for management of difficult medical cases within the assigned region. Provides direct patient care including interviews, examinations, diagnoses, counseling, charting, prescribing pharmaceuticals, ordering tests, and referring to medical specialists when necessary. Meets with each provider in the group to review performance and support improvement plans at a minimum of once per month. Supervisory Responsibilities The Medical Director directly supervises all providers within their assigned scope of practice. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include hiring, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements:

Valid medical degree and license in the state of Florida. 2+ years of clinical experience. Basic Life Support certification (BLS) Experience in Manage Care and Value-Based Care Count Preferred 1+ year supervisory experience Clinical risk management
