This role aligns ECC services with VHA’s mission, vision, and core values, ensuring efficiency, accessibility, and exceptional medical care. The ECC Medical Director plays a key role in: Providing clinical leadership to uphold high medical standards and drive excellent patient care. Developing operational strategies to enhance workflow efficiency, patient outcomes, and department sustainability. Fostering team development by mentoring and retaining high-performing veterinary teams. Coordinating the DVM externship program, creating an inspiring and rewarding experience for DVM externs. Fostering a culture of compassion, sustainability, and self-care, utilizing resources to create a culture of resiliency. Collaborating across departments to optimize patient care and enhance interdepartmental coordination. Driving process improvement through innovation and consistent protocols. Engaging in research initiatives within VHA’s in-house research center to advance emergency and critical care medicine. Managing financial responsibilities by overseeing the department’s budget, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring fiscal accountability. As a member of the leadership team, the ECC Medical Director collaborates cross-functionally to enhance hospital efficiency, optimize patient outcomes, and drive long-term growth strategies.
