JOB DESCRIPTION ABM

has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Manager, Innovation. ABM’s Products, Partnerships, and Innovation (PPI) team plays a critical role in shaping the company’s future and identifying the next wave of growth. Reporting to the Senior Director of Products, Partnerships, & Innovation, the Senior Manager of Innovation is charged with incubating and developing scalable pilots—then guiding the most promising concepts into robust, repeatable solutions. The role partners day-to-day with Emerging Tech in a two-in-the-box model for pilot execution and works closely with the AI Implementation team to ensure alignment with ABM’s enterprise AI strategy. Initial focus areas include building ABM’s Robotics Strategy, XR Strategy, and Digital Twin/IoT Strategy, while continuously scouting additional high-value opportunities.

Pay:

$145,000 – $180,000
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.

Staff & Management Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
6+ years’ experience delivering technology or innovation programs in a corporate or consulting environment, with 2+ years in emerging technologies (e.g., robotics, XR, IoT, AI).
Demonstrated ability to incubate concepts, design pilots, and scale successful solutions across complex organizations.
Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
Familiarity with agile / lean experimentation methods and stage-gate governance for innovation.
Strong financial acumen to build business cases and track ROI.
Excellent storytelling, presentation, and change-management skills.

25 % Strategy Development – Lead cross-functional working groups to craft tech-enabled strategies (Robotics, XR, Digital Twin / IoT) that align to business priorities and AI roadmap. 3-year Robotics Strategy white paper; XR roadmap with capability gaps & investment plan
15 % Scaling & Transition – Build repeatable playbooks, KPIs, and handoff plans so successful pilots transition to product owners or business units. Pilot-to-program playbook; commercialization pipeline
15 % Innovation Portfolio Management – Maintain visibility of all active and proposed pilots; facilitate stage-gate reviews with PPI and AI Implementation leadership. Monthly portfolio dashboard; value-at-risk report
10 % Market & Tech Scouting – Track emerging tech, startups, and partners; recommend partnership or investment opportunities. Quarterly trend briefings; competitive landscape analyses
5 % Culture & Capability Building – Coach teams on innovation best practices and champion a test-and-learn mindset. Internal workshops; “Innovation 101” training modules

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operationalizing robotics, XR, or IoT solutions in facilities management, logistics, utilities, or related sectors.
Familiarity with digital twin platforms, cloud-based IoT architectures, and data-driven performance optimization.
Record of structuring joint ventures or partnerships with startups, universities, or technology vendors.
