Job Purpose:
PruittHealth PhysicianServices is seeking an experienced Medical Director to leadclinical care and ensure high-quality, patient-centered services inpost-acute and long-term care settings. As a leader in geriatriccare, you will oversee facility-wide clinical operations, lead careprocess improvement initiatives, and support ongoing education forstaff and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- MedicalPractice Leadership
- Direct overall clinical care for post-acuteand long-term care residents.
- Lead facility care teams, settingclinical standards for exceptional patient care.
- Care ProcessLeadership
- Guide the implementation of clinical andadministrative protocols.
- Support risk management and improvesafety outcomes.
- Quality of Care
- Develop and manage qualityimprovement programs.
- Monitor facility compliance with state andfederal healthcare regulations.
- Education, Communication, andLeadership
- Provide ongoing education and communication to staff,patients, and the community.
- Mentor healthcare professionals,including nurse practitioners and medical trainees.
- EmployeeHealth & Community Advocacy
- Ensure staff well-being throughinfection control measures.
- Serve as an advocate for residentrights, patient self-determination, and advance care planning.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Education:
MD or DO degreefrom an accredited institution.
Experience:
- At least 3 years ofclinical experience in a geriatric, adult, or family medicinesetting.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a healthcarerole.
Licensure:
- Current state medical license.
- Boardcertification in Geriatrics or a relevant field.
- Active DEAlicensure (Class II-V unrestricted).
- CPR certification.
PreferredQualifications:
- Geriatric Medicine Board Certification.
- Hospiceand Palliative Medicine Board Certification.
- Significantexperience in long-term care, hospice, or wound care.
- Bilingual(English & Spanish) is a plus.
Key Skills:
- Strong leadership andcommunication abilities.
- Expertise in geriatric and palliativecare.
- Ability to manage quality assurance initiatives (QAPI).
- Proficient in care planning for complex patients, includingend-of-life care.
