The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the leader responsible for providingclinical direction for Community Health Programs, Inc. (CHP). The CMOcollaborates with and assists the Chief Executive Officer and members ofSenior Leadership in fulfilling CHP’s mission, vision, and values,effectively operating the health center, and implementing CHP’sstrategic plan. The CMO oversees and directs patient access, patientcare, clinician well-being, and clinician engagement. The CMO advocatesfor clinicians and patients and provides a clinical perspective andleadership to support CHP’s delivery of patient-centered,cost-effective care, including improved health care access and healthoutcomes. With other members of management, the CMO ensures thatclinicians and care teams are efficient and productive with an emphasison developing and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement. TheCMO communicates CHP’s clinical vision and strategy to clinicians,staff, the Board of Directors and outside organizations. The CMO ensuresthat CHP has appropriate clinical controls and oversight to effectivelyachieve clinical and access goals and objectives, and is an advocate forcompliance, quality, and safety. The CMO balances their role as anadvocate for clinicians with the responsibility to support andcollaborate with administrative peers, ensuring that both clinicalexcellence and organizational goals are achieved at the health center.

Finally, this role ensures high-quality, patient-centered,cost-effective care while promoting financially sustainable clinicaloperations.

• Schedule:

• 2 days per week dedicated to clinicalpractice
• 3 days per week focused on administrative and leadershipresponsibilities## Position Requirements

• Essential CMO Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care as aphysician in the CMO’s medical specialty, serving as a role model forall clinicians.
• Works with Senior Leadership to translate CHP’smission, vision, values, and strategy into clinical and operationalactions.
• Serves as the principal clinical spokesperson for CHP,expressing CHP’s mission, vision, and values.
• Leads and manages allclinical leaders, including Clinical Directors, Clinical Site Leads andothers, including supporting a dyad model with operational leadership toachieve CHP’s clinical and operational goals and strategy. DevelopsCHP’s clinical leadership pipeline through mentorship, coaching, andsuccession planning initiatives.
• Works in partnership with operationalleadership to implement agreed-upon plans, communicate with cliniciansand staff, and to provide clinical input and oversight when needed.
• Collaborates with Senior Leadership, clinical leadership and cliniciansto develop goals for clinician performance and productivity, implementstrategies to achieve goals, and ensures that clinicians meet and, wherepossible, exceed their contractual and/or productivity obligations whilemaintaining a high level of quality.

• Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited M.D. or D.O. program.
• Five (5) yearsor more as a practicing physician. Must have or will obtain aMassachusetts medical license.
• Three (3) or more years of supervisoryexperience with clinicians and staff in a healthcare deliveryorganization, preferably in a community health setting. Five (5) or moreyears is preferred.
• Experience with an electronic health recordssystem, Athena preferred.
• Results-proven track record of meetingclinical goals.
• High level of business acumen and understanding ofbudgets, financial statements, productivity, and strategic planning.
