Remote About the Job The Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Central ismandated to oversee the effective and efficient functioning ofindividual MSLs in the region. The Director, Allergy MSLs, RegionCentral main objectives are to;
- Coach, train and manage MSLperformance and development to ensure excellent execution of theirrole and of strategic goals.
- Oversee that MSLs exhibit robustscientific knowledge.
- Support the establishment and maintenanceof strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
- Facilitate MSLtimely, appropriate, balanced, scientific exchanges with keyexternal expert to enhance the understanding of the therapeuticarea and medical value of our products.
- Aid in the development ofstrategic and tactical Medical Engagement Plans.
- Support thegeneration and communication of scientific and medical insights tointernal stakeholder.
- Ensure excellence in execution of allgovernance processes and manage MSL resources and budgets.

Main Responsibilities:
Team support anddevelopment
- Regularly spend time witnessing MSL field activities,appropriately diagnosing elements and offering feedback to supportimprovement of skills to impact performance and professionaldevelopment.
- Monitor MSLs’ execution of plans within theirrespective territories and with crucial KOLs via regular coachingsessions.
- Develop customized training and career development planfor each MSL.
- Appropriately prioritize elements of improvementand rank them, considering the needs of the MSL and of thebusiness.
- Collaborate with MSL National Director to selectappropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor MSLs’progress against KPIs
- Manage budget appropriately and ensurefiduciary responsibility is practiced by direct reports
- Ensureall MSLs fulfill global and corporate training requirements.
- Support the development of an action plan to close “gaps” incurrent organization either in terms of head count or skill levelsand initiatives to help achieve department objectives. KOL strategyand management
- Translate overall priorities into specific goalsand expected outcomes for the US region and individual MLs.
- Supervise identification and mapping of KOLs for each MSL in theirterritory to prioritize key territory stakeholders and developcustomized engagement plans.
- Follow-up on KOL engagement plans.
- Aids MSLs in the assessment of KOL needs, priorities, expectations,and feedback.
- Ensure strategic and tactical goals are met.
- Engage on cross-functional collaboration where appropriate.
- Support, attend, and follow up on scientific congresses, symposia,or other events where appropriate. Communicate scientific andmedical information/insights
- Develop scientific material such asslide decks, in collaboration with Medical Affairs Directors.
- Train or advise internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate and summarizefeedback on key scientific medical and clinical information andpatients’ behavior (indirectly from physicians) to provide insightsof impact for internal functions.
- Facilitate communication andorganize meetings and events among MSLs and with other functions topromote best demonstrated practices where appropriate.
- Organizeand conduct trainings as needed.
Travel 60% or greater, includingdomestic and international travel as needed.
Context of thejob/major challenges:
The Director, Allergy MSLs, Region Centralmay need to travel substantially to witness MSL field activitiesand effectively coach performance as MSLs need to travelsubstantially given the field-facing nature of the role; there willalso be a need to manage individuals and the team remotely giventhe field-facing nature of these roles.
- Director, Allergy MSLs,Region Central needs to ensure that the team operates within clearcompliance regulations and ensure that the information shared withstakeholders is non-promotional in nature.
- Director, AllergyMSLs, Region Central may need to address issues, includingaddressing corporate policy between other topics, which may becontroversial or sensitive for KOLs.
- Director, Allergy MSLs,Region Central have to work closely with Commercial partners whileminding regulatory boundaries for non-promotion
- Director, AllergyMSLs, Region Central are expected to model core company valuesroutinely. Dimensions/Scope
- Manage a base of 8-10 MSLs, includingcomplete oversight of the near term needs (e.g. training, etc.) andlong term requirements (e.g. career plan, etc.).
- Steer and guideteam to plan day-to-day interactions, including discussion pointsin accordance with Medical Affairs strategy.
- Track and monitoragreed KPIs as well as develop and execute remedial plans, asnecessary.
- Review, Monitor, and analyze data from the field as itrelates to feedback from the KOLs on key information concerning ourcompany’s strategy, products, image, or competition.
- Accountability on US regional level with reporting to US MedicalFranchise Head, Allergy and Pulmonary with cross-geographicalcommunication and best-practice-sharing with other MSL RegionalDirectors is encouraged.
About You Education/Requirements:
- MD,PharmD, PhD, or other doctoral-level degree preferred and 2 yearsrelated pharma/biotech experience.
- Candidates with advancedhealth care degrees and relevant Respiratory clinical experienceconsisting of at least 5 years in Respiratory clinical environmentmay be considered.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean drivingrecord and ability to pass a complete background check.
- Driving acompany car in a safe manner to daily meetings and appointments isrequired.
- Responsible for operating the motor vehicle using safedriving practices, knowledge of and compliance with all companypolicies, and obeying all traffic laws.
