Job Description
The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute (CMHVI) seeks a vascular surgeon to join and lead an established program in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine, serving the Central Maine population.
The CMHVI’s vision is to serve the vascular surgery needs of the greater Central Maine area.

The CMHVI provides the full breadth of vascular care, including a wide range of complex peripheral revascularizations, aortic reconstruction, and endovascular procedures.
The Vascular Surgery division works closely with cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, cardiology, and trauma surgery, and has dedicated beds in the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Unit.
There is a dedicated Endovascular Suite, Pre and Post cardio-vascular unit, and a functional hybrid OR with the latest in portable C-Arm technology.
The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited Vascular Surgery Fellowship training program, and have 3+ years of experience.
It is preferred the candidate will be ABS certified and have a broad skill set and interest in all facets of vascular surgery.
Administrative time and support will be provided to help the successful candidate rebuild and grow the program.
The surgeon must be able to work as a team within the CMHVI service line.
No general surgery is required and call obligations will be limited and flexible based on the size of the team.
The CMHVI is part of a larger Central Maine Healthcare System, which includes three hospitals located in Lewiston, Rumford, and Bridgton.
The CMHVI has a strong relationship with Maine Health, currently developing important collaborative programs in other areas.
There are opportunities for an interested candidate to expand on these affiliations both clinically and academically.
Central Maine is located approximately 30 miles northwest of Portland.
