Job Summary:
At La ClÃnica, you will be able to provide primary and obstetric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, allowing you to practice full scope family medicine.

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer, or designeeMajor Areas of Responsibility, include but are not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will support and provide clinical and administrative oversight for theAssociate Medical DirectorsWill facilitateAssociate Medical Director meetings.
Will work collaboratively withArea Managers on clinical operations.
Will attend relevantexternal meetings, as determined in collaboration with Chief Medical OfficerWill participate in site Matrix meetings as determined in collaboration with Chief Medical OfficerAssures new personnel receive a thorough orientation to La ClÃnica as well as site and job specific orientation.
Executes human resources supervisory responsibilities in accordance with La ClÃnica’s policies, procedures and applicable laws, consulting with the Human Resources as appropriate.
Practices open and effective communication with staff, providers, support departments, and leadership team
Duties/Responsibilities:
Deliver evidenced based care that supports our aim for improved health outcomes, exceptional patient experience and efficient use of resources.
Perform routine, acute, urgent, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to patients and determine appropriate regimen.
Prescribe medications, treatments or therapies and order medical diagnostic or clinical tests.
Explain medical procedures or test results to patients or family members.
Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment.
Deliver well and chronic disease care with cultural humility to a diverse patient population of all ages.
Have flexibility in meeting patients’ needs and participating in the call pool and rotational Saturday clinics.
Develop a positive rapport with patients and families to foster the physician/patient relationship.
Serve as a member of the cross-functional team of providers, consulting with mid-levels on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences.
Suggest improvements for clinic flow, patient scheduling and service delivery, and collaborate professionally with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, health educators, medical assistants, registered nurses, and case managers.
Provide direction to medical assistants regarding patient care as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Record programs, such as Epic.
Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.
High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients, and thorough knowledge of evidence-based care.
Good time management skills and evidence-based approaches to medical careAbility to deal courteously and effectively with complex patient profiles and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
Ability to work courteously and effectively as a team member to support the quality/efficiency standards established for the clinic; work independently; exercise good judgment; spell correctly; communicate effectively orally and in writing, make and thorough manner with speed and accuracy with minimal supervision.
Ability and willingness to work under pressure and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrate flexibility and ability to accept changes gracefully.
Ability to work across cultures and demonstrate support of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Ability to keep accurate, clear, and legible records of patient information.
English/Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
MD/DO or Nurse Pracitioner or Physician Assistant degree from a recognized University, five years of experience working in primary care clinic setting, and one to two years in an administrative clinical position.
Requires board certification in a primary care specialty (family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, women’s health/OB-GYN).In the absence of a board certification, candidate must be board eligible and become board certified within 2 years of employment.
Requires valid California license and DEA.
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periodsBending/lifting, pushing/pulling, adjusting, or moving objects weighing up to 15 pounds in all directions and occasionally more.
Repeating motions that may include the neck, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Upper extremity demands: Reaching above shoulder and/or below waist.
