(TAPM), a Federally Qualified HealthCenter in Guilford County, North Carolina with six (6) locations,is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO).Position SummaryUnder theadministrative direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), theCMO is responsible for clinical compliance with all medicalpolicies, staffing, directives, rules, regulations, and clinicalperformance standards of the State, Federal Government, Localentities, health center bylaws, and accrediting bodies. The CMOserves as the organization’s point person on medical and clinicalissues, providing professional medical services as appropriate, andother related work, as designated by the Chief ExecutiveOfficer.
Core Competencies / Skill Sets A minimum of two to four years of leadership experience in aninpatient or outpatient setting is preferred; experience treatingand managing care for a culturally diverse population is aplus. Broad knowledge and/or experience with Federal regulationsrelated to the operation of a Federally Qualified Health Center(FQHC). High standards of personal integrity, ability to supervise andmanage people and systems, with excellent communication skills andthe ability to lead; previous experience in a Physician Executive /Leadership role is a plus. Demonstrated experience in utilization management, qualitymanagement, and patient safety programs. Strong independent decision-making, negotiating, and analyticalskills; as well as personnel development, team building, andmentoring skills.
Responsibilities Directs and oversees all daily aspects of the clinical andquality functions of the organization. Establishes, monitors, and improves the standards of carethrough performance benchmarks and goals. Develops and recommends strategies to enhance clinicalperformance, effectiveness, efficiencies, productivity, andcompliance of all clinical functions. Manages a 25+ member provider team including MDs, NPs, PAs,LCSWs, etc. Oversees, in conjunction with the CEO, other departments thathave direct linkage to clinical functions: Behavioral Health, CareCoordination, Nutrition, and Nursing. Provides direct oversight for the clinical quality team andworks with the Quality Director to reach quality goals and increaseperformance measures and outcomes. Oversees peer-review program. Oversees provider productivity and coding, providing directionand facilitating annual coding training. Develops, manages, and implements clinical policies andprotocols for appropriate patient care. Ensures clinical compliance with all local, state, and federalgovernment requirements. Conducts annual performance evaluations for providers. Coordinates, evaluates, and oversees physician specialtyclinics. Facilitates provider meetings and/or trainings on a monthlybasis. Provides mentorship to new providers. Provides direct patient care at least two full days per week,with 3 days of administrative and supervision time. Works closely with area hospitals and agencies to facilitatecare coordination and linkage for continuum of care. Provides a thorough orientation program for new providers andappropriate clinical and quality team members.
ProfessionalExperience / Educational RequirementsMedical Doctor or Doctor ofOsteopathy and board certification in chosen primary care specialtyof Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
